No Tryout Required! for Girls in or entering Middle School: Pilot Division

Pilot Team Eligibility & Sign-Up Info

Girls in the 14 & Under age division are welcome to join our Pilot Teams — no tryout required.

​

Eligibility: Athletes must be born July 2012 or later and no later than June 2015.

​

How it works: Once registration is complete, your athlete is automatically placed on a Pilot Team. Season runs from December through early February.

​

Team capacity: We will accept a maximum of 24 athletes total (enough for two Pilot Teams).

​

Important – Pilot Team Registration: The Driven Dragons Pilot Team is a separate AAU-only developmental program and is not a KRVA/USA Volleyball team. Registration for the Pilot Team does not constitute an offer, acceptance, or commitment to a Driven Dragons KRVA/USAV competitive team.

Athletes registered for the Pilot Team are still welcome to participate in tryouts for our Select and Regional KRVA/USAV teams. If your athlete later receives and accepts an official offer for one of those competitive teams, we will transfer her from the Pilot program and fully refund any Pilot Team tuition already paid.

If your athlete does not move to and accept a spot on one of our KRVA/AAU competitive teams, all Pilot Team tuition and payments are non-refundable.

We offer three clear pathways so every athlete can find the right fit for their goals and lifestyle.

​

Select Division For athletes who want a higher level of competition, including national qualifiers and some out-of-state travel.

    • Team Sapphire (our top squad)

    • Season: December through May (With option to go to Nationals in June)

Regional Division For athletes who want strong training and competition while staying mostly local with a more flexible schedule and fewer tournaments.

    • Teams: Ruby or Emerald

    • Season: December through May

Pilot Division A low-commitment way to try club volleyball. Perfect for athletes who want to dip their toes in without a full-season commitment.

  • Division: Pilot

    • 14U Team Topaz (ages 12 thru 14)

    • No tryout required

    • 2-month season (Dec thru end of Jan/early Feb)

    • Practice once a week + one tournament

While all three options help athletes grow their skills and confidence, they serve different goals. Select is designed for more serious athletes who want higher-level competition and travel. Regional sits in the middle—competitive training with a more balanced schedule. Pilot is a gentle introduction for athletes who are just starting to explore club volleyball.
